Our policy work

Where we make a difference

From the Industrial Accelerator Act and the 2028–2034 EU budget to the ETS review and the Circular Economy Act, new rules decide the competitiveness of Czech industry. We make sure companies are heard while they are written, not after.

Industrial decarbonisation & clean energy

Industry is the backbone of the Czech economy and one of its largest sources of emissions. Its competitiveness depends on how fast it can switch to clean production and affordable clean energy.

Example

In September 2026 we brought the Ministry of Industry and Trade, ING, Daikin and the City of Ostrava to one table on the EU Industry Accelerator Act and its fast-track permitting zones.

What we push for

  • Faster permitting of clean industrial investments
  • A predictable EU ETS and carbon price that rewards early movers
  • Smart use of the 2028–2034 EU budget and the Competitiveness Fund
  • Simpler rules for connecting renewables and a modern, flexible grid
  • Electrification of industry and transport

Circular economy & EPR

Well-designed extended producer responsibility (EPR) schemes turn waste into resources and keep materials in Czech industry.

  • In 2025 we ran the first voluntary EPR pilot for furniture in Czechia. It showed that old furniture can be collected and recycled systematically.
  • We push for an effective implementation of the EU Packaging Regulation (PPWR) and a deposit return system for bottles and cans.
  • We run the Czech Circular Hotspot, the national platform for circular business.

Biodiversity & healthy landscapes

Healthy soil, water and forests are the base of every supply chain, from food to packaging.

  • We push for an agricultural policy after 2027 that rewards farmers for restoring soil, water and landscape.
  • At Climate Week Prague 2026 we discussed climate risks in supply chains, from soil to forests, with Nestlé, Mondi and Fairtrade.
  • We help companies prepare for the EU rules on deforestation-free supply chains, together with Preferred by Nature.
